PARADISE deals with the emotional language of the images of female Kurdish martyrs and freedom fighters. The work has been commissioned by Kampnagel (Hamburg) as a videoinstallation in the context of the festival Digifem in November 2019. Artists Leyla Yenirce and Mazlum Nergiz invited the audience to a stressful, overburdening pictorial seance in which the artists measure the fine line between transfiguring mythology and resistant emancipation. Fallen YPG fighters who undertake an uncanny transformation in the cosmos of the Internet float through a sky landscape and look down on us humans like the goddesses of Olympus. PARADISE is a conceptual space for installation, texts and floating images.
